- Monks do not touch women, so a woman's sak yant (sacred tattoo) is often done by a master who is not a monk. tatnews.org
- Tattoo artists in Thailand hold a yearly medical certificate covering hepatitis B and C and tuberculosis. news.cn
- Buddha images over about 12 cm need a Fine Arts Department permit to leave Thailand; reports say amulets are not covered by this rule. phuket101.net
